My Weight Loss Story Every since elementary school I can remember always being the fat kid. Not much has changed since then because I always seem to be the largest person everywhere I go. I weighed over 200lbs since the sixth grade at which point I wore a size 20. Throughout middle school I continued to gain weight from emotional eating. I had lost my grandfather and suffered some other losses, while oreos became my best friend. My freshman year in high school I was wearing a size 24 and was well on my way to a size 26 topping the scale at 280lbs(the largest I have ever been). I continued to eat despite the doctors warnings for me to lose weight. Towards the end of my freshman year in high school I was introduced to track and field. I was on the shot put and discus team. Becoming involved in track and field kept me active and by the end of my junior year in high school I was down 40lbs weighing in at 240lbs. I felt really good and confident at 240lbs in a size 22. I kept the weight off until I graduated from high school. During the summer after graduation and the first quarter of my freshman year at Ohio State University, thanks to Catfish Biffs Pizza, I put back on thirty of the forty pounds. I remember going out for 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and mountain dew 5 nights a week about 11:00pm. After my freshman year I began to maintain my weight and did so until my junior year of college. Half way through my junior year of college I decided to give Weight Watchers a try. In April 2002 I joined Weight Watchers weighing in at 270lbs. I stay on the program until October 2002 a time where I had lost 35 pounds and figured I could do the program on my own and not go to meetings any more. I was wrong. By April 2003 I had put back on the thrity pounds and re-joined Weight Watchers. However, I felt guilty for being a quitter the first time and I quit again after 3 weeks and losing 12 pounds(sounds crazy, huh). Needless to say I put back on those 12 pounds and five more between April 2003 and September 2003. In September 2003, after all my clothes were fitting tight and I was physically uncomfortable, I decided to rejoin Weight Watchers, because I knew the program works, and dedicated myself to becoming healthier and losing this weight once and for all. When I rejoined in September 2003 I weighed in at 275lbs. Yes, that is five pounds more than when I first joined Weight Watchers in 2002 and 5 pounds away from my highest weight. I continue to work the program, one day at a time. It is not easy and it has been a slow process, but I am in it to win. I will win this war. As of 1/18/04 I have lost 24.4 pounds and weighed in at 250.6 pounds. I have a goal of losing 51.6 pounds by the end of 2004. This will be the first time that I weighed less than 200lbs since the sixth grade, 11 years ago. I do not have a desire to be a really skinny woman. I am beautiful and just want to be healthy. Therefore my ultimate goal is to weigh 170lbs. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Goals for 2004 (began working on goals on 1-19-04) Ultimate goal for 2004 is to weigh 199lbs or less.
