I love to sing! Singing is, without a doubt, my biggest passion. I wish I could sing for a living and I envy those who do. How wonderful would it be to do something you love so much and get paid for it?! So, I am on a mission. With a little encouragement from my friends, I have decided to place my few feeble recordings here for the world to hear.
I also have an awesome friend named Kevin. Kevin is, well, my producer. There really isn't any other way to put it. He is an extremely talented guy and he has a studio. So, about 4 years ago, I laid down some money and spent a day laying down some of these tracks. I had a blast working with Kevin. And my buddy Mike also joined me to play guitar on two of the songs. It was an awesome experience and I was excited when I got to record again.
I hope you enjoy the following songs!
I am most proud of this first song, because it was written by my friend (and worship leader) Jojo Ambion for his debut cd, "Great Are Your Ways". This particular track was first laid down long before we recorded the rest of his album and he decided to include it as a bonus track. So, YOU ARE LORD (ACOUSTIC) was born and I am so blessed that he would trust his song to me!
The second track is a song called LEGACY written by my favorite Christian artist, Nichole Nordeman. I hope that this song is the prayer of my heart. I know it isn't always, but it's what I strive for.
This third song has a special place in my heart. I was at morning worship one day at my DTS in Switzerland and my self-esteem was going through a rebuilding process. That morning, we sang a song song called YOUR BELOVED by VineyardMusic and while we were singing, I just felt like I was wrapped in this warm embrace. I felt that God was giving me a huge hug and he was telling me how much he loved me. It was an awesome feeling! I wasn't the only person who was touched by this song. My newly-engaged classmate, Anne, also loved the song and decided that she wanted it in her wedding. So, that next July, I was honored to sing this song at her wedding!
I first heard this song, GO THE DISTANCE, in 2003. Clay Aiken did this song on his demo and I love the message in the words. I tried forever to find out who originally did this song, and finally found out it was a Christian group called The Martins. Mike played guitar for me, since I couldn't find a track. It doesn't sound quite the same as Clay's version, but it is still a wonderful song.
I have found that this is a song I would have loved to have written myself. Kristy Starling was the original vocalist on WATER, a song that speaks of a thirst for God.
The final song is called WHY. Another song by Nichole Nordeman, this is such a powerful song. The lyrics hit straight to the depths of a person. Nichole know how to phrase things so you can experience them with her. You see the picture she paints. I was able to sing this song at a church in Greece while I was on outreach.
