Father What Makes A Dad
God took the strength
of a mountain, The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer
sun, The calm of a quiet
sea,
The generous soul of
nature, The comforting arm of
night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the
eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in
spring, The faith of a mustard
seed,
The patience of
eternity, The depth of a family
need,
Then God combined these
qualities. When there was nothing
more to add,
He knew His masterpiece
was complete, And so,
He called it ... Dad

This poem was written to Jack Brown after his
death by unknown author
(possibly by his wife ‘my mom’ Cleta)
POEM TO DADDY
Happy Birthday Daddy
Today on your birthday Daddy, We feel so close to you
Only you could know just how much we cared for you
Since you went home with Jesus it gets so
lonely here
But we know you are watching us through every smile
and tear
While you were here on this Earth you were so
happy and gay
We just couldn’t understand why you were
taken away
The five of us are trying, Dad to make you happy and proud
We want to live the way you taught us when we are alone or in a crowd
We still see your smiling face through our pain and happiness too
We know that your hand will guide us in all we say and do
Sometimes life seems so hard to bear without your strength and love
But someday, Dad we will meet again in that wonderful
place above

My dad was born December 15th 1932 to Welby
Brown and Mamie Ballenger
He was actually the third born the two older ones did not live very long.
He joined the Air Force right out of high
school
then after he
got out of the service, he married my mom on Jun 1st 1956
Cleta and Jack had 5
kids within a few short years and Daddy was really proud of, He called us his 5-leaf clover.
Daddy was taken from us suddenly on Mar 27th 1965
He has been sadly missed
by everyone. I don’t
think there is a day that goes by still that we don’t think about him.

Here is a another touching poem
Letter to my family
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell
with God above.
no
more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning,
noon, and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on
earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said,
"I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were
missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they will be
here later on.
There's so much that we have to do, to help
our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and
care for you.
Andwhen you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight, AndWhen you think of my life on earth, and all
those loving years, becausedo not be afraid to cry; it does relieve
the pain. because
I wish that I could tell you all what God
has planned. one thing is for certain, though my life
on earth is o'er,
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and
many hills to climb: It was always a philosophy and I'd like it for you too; If you can help somebody who is in sorrow
and pain: And now I am contented ....
that my life was worthwhile. So if you meet somebody who is sad and
feeling low; When you are walking down the street and you've got Me on your mind; And when it's time for you to go...from that
body to be free,
God and I are closest to you the middle of the night.
you're only human, they are bound to bring
you tears.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless
there was some rain.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
I am closer to you now, than I ever was before.
together we can do it by taking one day at
a time.
That as you give unto the world, the world
will give to you.
Then you can say to God at
night...."My day was not in vain."
Knowing as I passed along the way I made
somebody smile.
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your
way you go.
I am walking in your footsteps, only half a
step behind.
Remember you're not going.....you
are coming here to Me.
