Miniature Gilbert Cottage Clock

This clock is so tiny. I bought it so I'd end up with a few different sized cottage clocks, which I could group together.

This little clock is the first clock I own which has real Rosewood veneer. Now I see why it's so desirable. It has the most beutiful shades of deep red with veins of black through it.

The movement on this clock is very unusual as well. I believe it's a ladder movement, but I'm not 100% sure on this one. Any info would be great. It's also very bizarre, because the spring is on the back of the movement, and lies between the back plate, and the rear of the case.

The label has a patent date of 1862 on it. I assume it was made in that year, or shortly afterwards.
