In the tent after summit, 16th Jan. Toe Nails black from soaking feet in Potassiumponagimate(?) beforehand
These four in the hospital in Menoza when I arrived and took off my 4 pairs of socks. 18th Jan.
These six above were taken on Saturday 24th Jan when we changed the dressing. Still red here, can see the black just starting round the edges.
These 4 were taken the next day, Sun 25th Jan. Now black. I know this was a problem, but nothing we could have done on the sunday. We had the appointment with the doctor at 10am the next morning.
These three were taken on the 27th Jan. Not much change. Feet were cleaned with soap and water after these photos. No concern over toes on right foot anymore, no need for bandages(Only on the right foot).

Today went to the hospital in preparation for the possible opperation tomorrow to remove the black dead tissue. Docotos cant comment how deep the black goes till they remove it they say. The nail of the Worst toe was lifted up today and strile brown liquid was dribbled underneath. The only bit that is holding the toenail on in in the bottom left corner where you can see from the photos the skin is still pink.
Tuesday 3rd Feb below
NOW BACK IN ENGLAND
After the removal of the bandage the surface had dried out all apart from the "ingrowing" toenail part as you can see looks raw and leaking puss under the nail.
Wednesday 4th Feb below
The next day, after the nurse had put on an initial moist gauze the day before, this had absorbed a lot of the puss and was extremely smelly. It was horrible.
surface was moist. Left hand black section had lifted away from the toe, completely unattached to anything below. The nurse later cut this piece off revealling fresh new pink unprinted skin similar to that now at the end of my Right big toe. There was not a mark left as a result. Toenail has detached itself from the surface below but still remains hanging on to the skin down the left side. Nurse lifted nail to have a quick look, I asked her to remove the ingrowin part as I felt it wasnt helping and it was uncomfortable. So the nurse cut along the blue line removing the small section.
Thursday 5th Feb
No Photos as Dressings changed Everyother day now.
Friday 6th Feb
These photos were taken before my shower. No real comments, other than you can now see where the black section on the left has been removed.

Look no nail, came off very easly and now looks very clean and fresh. These photos were taken just before the nurse reapplied the dressing.
The Black is still pretty well attached and doesn't look like it will budge yet.
Sunday 8th Feb
No comment really, just had dressings changed. Pictures say alot.
