It is recommended that one use higher grades of VHS tapes for the best performance and fewer drop-outs, but it provides an economical way to enjoy S-Video on all your recordings. Plus, S-VHS ET tapes can be played back on standard VCRs with the Quasi-S Play Back feature.

·  Super-VHS Get the best possible recordings from broadcast and cable as well as high resolution sources such as DirecTV or Hi8 and DV camcorders. 400 lines of resolution, compared to 240 lines of resolution with standard VHS.
