Main Features  

·  1080i HDTV Display Capability provides full "future-ready" display capability. This set is able to display ATSC standard 1080i HDTV programming when an compatible external HDTV set-top receiver (not included) is connected to the Digital TV Interface terminals. Unlike a standard digital comb filter which compares horizontal scan lines within a frame, a 3D Y/C digital comb filter also performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color information from the black-and-white signal. This comparison analysis of the image in the previous frame as well as the one on the following frame allows this circuitry to eliminate "dot crawl" and "hanging dots" in both the vertical and horizontal domains.

·  3 S-Video/ 3 AV Inputs provide incredible flexibility in connecting other video components to the television.

·  Component Video Inputs provide the highest possible picture quality from DVD players. By separating the video signal into component elements, hanging dots and artifacts are eliminated, color purity is unparalleled, and remarkable contrast levels are attained.

Audio Features 

·  Artificial Intelligence Sound Controls the volume level automatically to prevent wide variations in volume among different TV channels and types of programming

·  Bass + Treble Controls allow you to adjust the bass (lower) and treble (higher) frequencies of the music to your own individual listening tastes.

·  Broadcast Stereo with dbx (TM) Noise Reduction/SAP Improves the clarity and fidelity of stereo broadcasts by restoring dynamic range and suppressing unwanted noise.

·  Dolby Center Channel Input allows the television's speakers to be used as the center channel speaker in a Dolby Pro-Logic surround system. Because the speakers are so close to the picture, in some set-ups this capability provides the best centering of the sound image.

·  Fixed Audio Output provides a fixed level signal output for connection to an A/V receiver, bypassing the volume and tone controls of the television.

·  Simulated Surround Sound creates a phantom center channel, expand the front left and right channels and "place" virtual surround speakers around you, simulating the effects of a multichannel system.

·  Variable Audio Output allows the audio signal to be attenuated through the output, for connection to various audio systems. On side benefit is that the remote may control the TV volume when played through the system.

Video Features 

·  Artificial Intelligence (AI) Picture Control continuously monitors signal conditions to maintain a high degree of contrast in the picture. Looking at all areas of the picture simultaneously, AI picture control can darken an area judged to be too light without affecting the black level or contrast of the overall picture.

·  Color Temperature Control lets you choose the overall "warmth" of the image to match the atmosphere originally created by the director.

·  First Surface Mirror eliminates picture distortion caused by second surface mirrors, which require light to pass through a layer of glass, reflect, then pass through glass again. Sets having First Surface Mirrors reflect light directly from the reflective surface, thereby eliminating a source of distortion and producing better picture quality.

·  Horizontal Edge Correction Helps sharpen the edges of objects in the picture, for clean, crisp television images and reduce the unwanted effects of video noise.

·  Integrated 181-Channel CATV-ready MTS Tuner allows reception of all non-scrambled cable channels.

·  Panasonic Digital Convergence provides more accurate alignment of the three internal CRTs for a clearer picture. Panasonic converges their set at 165 points on the screen

·  Red and Green Pure Color Filters are mounted on the red and green CRTs within the projection TV, producing more balanced color by keeping the green and red images pure.

·  Vertical Edge Correction works in conjunction with the digital comb filter to sharpen the horizontal edges of objects in the picture.

·  Video Noise Reduction reduces noise in the luminance signal (snow) in the event of weak broadcast signal conditions.

·  Wideband Video Amplifier expands the signal frequency response by more than 10 MHz, providing a higher horizontal resolution processing capability for the chassis.  

Connections  

·  Dual RF Inputs ensure that the Dual Tuner PIP will be useful, even if you need to use a cable box. They can also be used to connect both cable TV, and an antenna.
