Welcome to the first of Andy's missions!
This is the first mission of the splitted missions. If you chose this side, you had your longterm goals in mind and didn't bother or forgot that you could get Grit doing the other set. In acquiring all of the COs, I have done both and think that this is the easier path. Of course it could also be out of repetition. Either way, I have found that going through these missions was a breeze and should be easy (unless you REALLY suck). I will start the guide in the next paragraph.
This mission is VERY easy if you know what to do. I will start from day 1 and work my way forward. This mission is your basic eleminate the defences and charge the HQ mission.
- Day 1: This is when you prepare your forces that you won't use that much. What you need to do is: move your rocket to the south and east hugging the ocean and stopping at the corner. This will cover your Md tank in its blind spot. You will move your Md tank into the rocket's blind spot (check it if you need to) and put an artillery behind it. This will hold off the ground forces that charge you and it will be very easy to hold them off if you use your indirect combat units. Finally, move a mech and an infantry onto the lander. Now, this is the important part. You will need to use your submarine and your B ship to wipe out the enemy's B ships one by one. The key is to focus your power on one at a time while avoiding the enemy's range and striking when they are vulnerable. Move your lander forward cautiously as you will lose your lander and have to build another and move the infantry/mechs into it which will waste time. After you have set up your defences and wiped out the first B ship, end your turn.
- Day 2: The enemy will charge your Md tank with a tank without attacking (easy prey for two indirect units) and move his B ships at you. Hold your defense, as even though you need to capture his HQ you can't let the enemy capture yours. Hopefully your sub and B ship will be in range of another enemy B ship. Wipe it out defensively and inch forward your lander just out of range. Then end your turn by producing some forces if you wish.
- Day 3: By now Olaf should have used his CO power. You will probably will not be able to attack the B ship directly this turn, but you can approach it with your sub and submerge it. You will also probably need to back up your lander out of B ship range. Hold off the enemy on the bridge and produce another lander if you wish, and stock it with your remaining infantry and mech. End your turn checking that you used all of your units that you wish.
- Days 4-6: You should have wiped out the final B-ship, and drop off your mech on the plains and your infantry on the beach. The closest enemies will not attack your infantry/mech, so you will capture the HQ in two days. If you want to be safe, you can block the passage into the HQ island with one of your units to guarantee your capture.
