Air Ace!
Overview
This mission takes you off course of the Blue Moon missions, although it would be too complicated to make another section devoted to it I have classified it a Blue Moon mission. In this mission, you face a new CO named Eagle. Eagle is one of the two COs that works for the Green Earth army, but the storyline insists you meet him now and get a better perspective of the situation on the continent.
Walkthrough
You start out in this mission with a small force of transports, Anti Airs, some tanks, and a helicopter. I'll walk through this in an orderly manner, day by day.
- Day 1: You should start out by loading your mechs into the APC and Transport Copter. Wipe out the enemy helicopter with your A-Air. Also damage the enemy tank with your Md tank, since nothing will try to hurt your Md tank. After doing those things, move your troops east across the bridge, but you should make sure to do it like this:
When you move your troops on the bridge, you want to line them up so that nothing can get into the little water south of the bridge. This will act as a coocoon to protect your copters (transport and battle) so that you can move into the enemy HQ and capture it within 10 days at very most.
- Day 2: The enemy fighters should fly at you by now. Hurt them with your A-Airs and missile (if it's in range). Also, you want to keep the protective barrier around the copters, but move the troops with them so that they're always protected but moving closer to the enemy HQ. Make sure you pin them against the side of the map so it takes less troops to protect them.
- Day 3: The final factor before you can make a rush for the enemy's HQ is a bomber that lies in wait in the northeast part of the map. This bomber won't move unless something is in range of it (once your troops step on the second bridge) and then it charges without hesitation. You can take advantage of this by preparing an ambush of a missile attack to wipe it out (at the expense of one of your troops, say an infantry). After all of his air forces have been wiped out, you are free to storm his HQ and capture it. Once you land your infantry/mech by his HQ, a tank lies in wait (his last defenses) and attacks your infantry. This is why you need to keep both your copters intact. When you protect the infantry/mech that's capturing the HQ, the tank will attack the transport copter. You are then free to attack it with your battle copter and weaken it.
- Day 4-6: You should be wrapping up things by now. Produce more units to increase your toughness(fix that later) score and finish off the enemy tank with your battle copter. If you do these things before you finish capturing his HQ, you will get a higher score.
This method will land you an A or S, depending on how quickly you finish it. The other method takes MUCH longer, and it involves wiping out all of his forces. Usually with that method, unless you're a genius, gives you a C or D. So I suggest that you use the first method unless you like getting bad grades.
