The Troupe

The Play With Your Food troupe consists of 12 performers (three of which are the original founding members) and 2 pianists. Each shows feature a cast of 7 - 8 of these members with several parts 'co-cast' or 'swung' therefore allowing each member to have an opportunity to perform.

: Heather is well known as a concert pianist for a number of local choirs and churches. She has been involved with Play With Your Food productions for two years and is very glad to be back in the saddle again with our current productions , despite the oddity of being called Lady Fingers!



: Since 1991, Ian has acted for Theatre Inconnu, Langham Court, Island Repertory Company, Theatre Cabale, Theatre SKAM, Victoria Shakespeare Festival, Harbour Street Dinner Theatre, Chemainus Theatre Company, and Capital Comedy Theatre. In 1998 he founded Giggling Iguana Productions, which has staged Charley's Aunt, Taking Steps, Equus, 2 Cabarets, The Fall of the House of Usher and Shakespeare In Love



: Dean, a Victoria poet, is one of the founding members of Play With Your Food. He made his theatrical debut in Four Season's production of Jack & The Beanstalk. Following that, he originated the role of Maury Felony in an earlier incarnation of "Cement Shoes" but now prefers to be the Leprechaun with an attitude, Ryan O’Brien. His other PWYF roles include Max in Hollywood SLEASE and Frederick Brown in The Yuletide Party Mystery.



: A native Victorian, Bill has been a member of the local theatre scene for over 30 years, working with many local theatre companies in various capacities: actor, director, choreographer, producer and writer. A founding member of Play With Your Food, Bill has scripted Hollywood Self Love Ego Award Show Extravaganza , The Yuletide Party Mystery and the upcoming Tea On A Hot Tin Roof. Of all his roles, Jacques (in Cement Shoes) is by far his favourite.



:Sue has been in four productions with Play With Your Food. She has performed leading roles in many musicals, and appears frequently as a solo vocalist with Victoria-area orchestras, big bands and in solo concerts. Her three-octave vocal range has thrilled audiences across Canada and the US, and she released her second CD last year. Visit her website at www.sueklassen.com



:An active member of Victoria's theatre community since the age of eight, Stephanie has been seen in 30 + shows in various locations on the island. Some of her past credits include Raina in Arms and The Man, Rizzo in Grease, Josephine in HMS Pinafore, and Shirley Poppins in Play With Your Food's eight-month run of Murder in Tinsel Town. Stephanie is currently pursuing a degree in Vocal Performance at UVic.


: David is another well known theatre personality and most recently appeared in Island Repertory Company's, Love! Valor! and Compassion! One of our newest members, David made his premiere appearance as Dudley Ness "a cop a Canadian cop" in summer 2001's Cement Shoes. Through the fall David will be performing with Iguana Productions in their production of The Fall of the House of Usher



: Maxie has appeared on CBC and has her own children's musical "Full of Beans". You may have heard her very recognizable voice on numerous radio voice-overs. Her first role, With Play with your Food, was that of Vanessa Hepburn in Hollywood SLEASE and as for the future, well, Maxie has come to Victoria to "make it in the BIG time.



:"Dudley Ness" is a crime-fighter. Ever since that day in the eighth grade when...oops. Don keeps busy acting, directing and backstage work with St Luke's Players, Langham Court Theatre, 4 Seasons Children's Theatre and Masques. In spare time he manages www.talent-bc.com- a theatrical and film website for the island.


:Gloria is a regular on the Victoria Theatre scene and is the third partner in Play with your Food Theatre Co. She has been seen in V.O.S., Four Seasons Musical Theatre and Theatre Guild productions. Her diversity has been confirmed by such roles as Matron in Chicago, Mrs. Upson in Mame, Peggy in Godspell, Pirate Jenny in Threepenny Opera, Gloria Garbo in Hollywood SLEASE and Mimi in Cement



:Kevin has appeared in over 20 Victoria productions since his theatrical debut in 1990. Audiences may remember him as Amos Hart in Chicago, Mick Flanagan in The Field, the Porter in MacBeth , the brutally funny innkeeper Feraillon in the classic Feydeau farce A Flea In Her Ear, and his acclaimed solo Fringe Festival performance as Polygraph in Heart of A Dog.
