Welcome to Mymsin Shiba Inu

About Us

My name is Mym Clews and I have bred, judged, shown and most of all, loved the Shiba since it came to this country in 1985.    I try to breed to the Nippo Standard and specialize in clear red which is, after all the most desired colour in Japan.    As a result of this love I now judge and award KC Challenge certificates in Shibas and Akitas.   I also judge numerous Utility breeds at an Open level.

My husband Pete and I share our home with six shibas and live in Hatfield, Hertfordshire , England.

As I breed very rarely the purpose of this web will mostly be to give help and advice.   I will try to give you some idea of the essence of the Shiba and in these  pages you will find contacts with other Shiba owners, homeopathic tips and photos of my shibas and their friends.

One of my hobbies is breed note correspondent to Our Dogs,  www.ourdogs.co.uk     This is a very useful site for all dog lovers and well worth a visit.   There you will find archive information on show results, critiques and back copies of my notes.

I use Breeders Assistant for dogs to keep my Shiba Database.   This is a link to the site  www.tenset.co.uk   Breeders Assistant Pedigree Software allows one to do trial matings and to check the inbreeding percentage.   It is also possible to print excellent pedigree forms of one's own design.

Mymsin History is the story of my involvement and love of the Shiba

Living With Shibas may give a little help to old and new owners.

Shiba Friends is a page of photos of my shibas and their friends

Links, Feedback And Friends Is where I ask your help.   I would like your opinions on how I can improve this site.   I will also add links from time to time that may be of interest.

Nippo Articles may be of some help in understanding the finer points of our lovely shibas

Homeopathywill be the final page  .   I have finally started on this page.   Please let me know if there is any info I can add.

This is a photo of Ch Mymsin Amai (Amy to her friends)

Amy is Taro & Yoshi's Grandmother

I would like to thank Debbie Mulligan, Chris Thomas and Keith Nathan for giving Amy her title.   Since then she has won 9 Best Bitch and 1 Best of Breed without tickets at Championship shows and 8 Best Bitch, 1 Best of Breed and Utility Group 2 at Championship shows with Challenge Certificates on offer..   We decided to retire Amy after this as she had done so much for us.

This site is still under construction.   If you have any comments, suggestions or queries please contact me on   mym@mymsinshibas.co.uk
