~WHY THE BIRTHDAY LIST~
I created this idea of a birthday list because it served to solve two problems. The first being that a lot of my readers are either housebound or even bedbound. As a result they have too much time on their hands and not enough to do. So I had a discussion with some and reached an agreement. Now the other side of the coin is that a lot of the people on the list also have no family or anyone to care if their day is special. This is a shame! So you see, the solution is the Birthday List! Those with too much time on their hands can put some time to good use finding just the right birthday card for some of the people who would otherwise have a gloomy day alone.... so you see who you know may be important,,, but who you may not know is just as important. In order for this to work.. ALL on the list must be sent cards. For myself, I can tell you that getting up on your birthday to a mailbox full of cards is soooo very special and nothing feels quite like it... kinda like a big ole fuzzy hug and it stays with you all day long!
~WHO AND WHY IS SAPPHIRE~
Yup! Sapphire was a very real lady. One of the sweetest that I have ever had the pleasure to know. At the time God brought her to the bingo room, she was terminally ill with cancer which she kept hidden from almost all in the room. The room quickly came to love her for her generous and loving spirit. It was such a shock when we were told that she had died. You see, she asked her son, Dean, to come to the bingo room to deliver us a message. She said to tell us that from now on she would be our very own guardian angel. When Pogo changed the rooms around, some of us decided that we wanted a room name that would mean something to us all, so we campaigned and won the right to call our bingo room, Sapphires Dream. The first day we had moved in, I decorated. The first thing I did was to hang up a sign just inside our door. It reads, "Please leave all egos and prejudices outside this room." This is the story of the room. And may God continue to bless our Sapphire! AMEN!
Rudy was one of our rooms "quiet ones". He observed the room before he jumped in. And as he said he only got involved with the room at first because he was desperate. A year before that Rudy had lost his wife to cancer, leaving him and their 4 boys, Bobby, Willis, Chris and Shawn very lost and on their own. Rudy came to the room for help because the boys were threatening to rebel. They wanted home cooking and not junkfood. And the room was only too willing to help out with easy recipes. Rudy fit right in with the room and the boys were very happy to have real food lol.
After almost a year we received word that Rudy had died. A drunk driver had hit him as he was taking two of the boys to a scout meeting. The room went into shock. The boys had minor cuts and bruises but Rudy didnt make it. Rudys Mom was the one who notifiied us with the help of the boys who bless their hearts were concerned about us.
Rudys death brought the room closer together and Rudy will always be in the hearts of those who knew him. The room memorial page for him is below.
And the boys went to Canada to live with their Godparents. And they are in my prayers even now, as they are with other roomies.

Most of the Moonmail readers can be traced back to the Bingo Room Sapphires Dream or Back 40. Pogo.com is where it did begin after all. However, it is not just for bingo players. Some of my readers were found in Slingo, ICQ, and in other games, and some related to players in Sapphires Dream but not bingo players. These people are just as welcome to Moonmail as the others, as they well know! Besides Sapphires Dream, another bingo room has joined Moonmail and I would like to welcome them now. They were from AlwaysFreeBingo.com, a room called Coconut Beach there,and are now located at Cashbreak.com in Paradise... you are all more than welcome to come to Pogo and Sapphires Dream to meet your nieces and nephews there! :-)
