I know you all will want updates, so I will try the best I can to keep this timeline updated.

3/6/05 - I took a home pregnancy test. I called a few people to tell them the possibility we were pregnant. My sister, Stephanie, was one of those people. I told her because her birthday had just passed, and I thought it would be a great present. She had instructions not to tell my mom yet though.

3/7/05 - I went to confirm the results at the clinic.

3/11/05 - Steph calls me to tell me that I "HAVE" to tell my mother, because the secret is just killing her. She threatened me if I didn't tell, that she would.

3/21/05 - I had my first doctor's appointment. I got my first ultrasound, and they heard a heartbeat so the doctor was pretty happy. The nurse gave me all sorts of literature to read up on. Later that afternoon I got to show the ultrasound pictures to Mike, Tracy and Sam, when they stopped in to visit me at work.

3/27/05 - By now, many people have found out that we're expecting. My favorite reaction, so far, was my auntie (and godmother) Rose. If you know Rosie, you can just hear this play out in your head. I called my grandma Wertish's house to catch everyone at the same time. Mom answered the phone and hands it off to Rosie. We say our hellos, and then I tell her that she has to repeat everything I say, and yell it to everyone else in the house. So, I start out by saying, "Mike and Melanie say Happy Easter!" and I hear her just yell it out. Then I say, "And their pregnant!" And she absolutely just screams it to everyone...She sounded so excited. It was quite funny!

3/31/05 - Made an appointment for the dentist today. I have a wicked cavity that is starting to bother me. I called the nurse and she said to take care of it sooner rather than later so it doesn't turn into an abscess. So, next week I have to go get more blood taken, another doctor visit, and a dentist visit. I don't think I've been to the doctor this much in my whole life...I'm highly anticipating the first trimester to be over with...

4/4/05 - I went in for my blood work today. It was pretty quick. It's just tough to watch them take 6 viles of blood...

4/6/05 - I went in for my appointment today. It was not the most pleasant experience I have ever had. All I was having done was an ultrasound. Well, I waited for like an hour and a half for the doctor on call (who was delivering a baby), for what in his words was an "unnecessary" ultrasound. I was pretty upset when I left there. I think part was the hormones, but part was the way he made me feel so uncomfortable. I am making a point not to see him again. He's one of 3 rotating doctors.

5/3/05 - I had my monthly check up and all was ok. I got to hear the heart beat for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! The nurse had a little trouble getting a clear sound of it at first, but then found it and man was it fast! The baby kept moving around and while she was finding it and at one point you could hear both my slow beat and the babies fast beat. It was pretty cool!!

5/10/05 - Well it's official! I got sick this morning for the first time for no apparent reason. I was doing so well! I had a great streak going, I just hope this isn't going to be something that is going to continue...
