Alberta Vacation

We left Winnipeg in July & headed west along the Yellowhead Highway to Saskatoon. We continued west along a secondary road so we could find Adanac Saskatchewan before heading on to Edmonton. Adanac turned out to be a bit more of a ghost town than we expected. Once in Edmonton, the main attraction was, of course, the West Edmonton Mall.

We headed to Pocohontus where we had a cabin rented for a couple of nights. Here is our rented car parked in fron of the cabin. An elk spent some time resting & then having lunch on the lawn one day.

We found female & young Big Horn Sheep everywhere we went (now we know where the added flavour comes from when barbecuing in a campground).

Finally we found Mountain Goats.

The mountains were (of course) beautiful

Angela and I couldn't turn down the opportunity to go horseback riding in the mountains.

Angela took a picture of this raven. She wanted to bring him along with us, but finally settled for just the picture. I'd rather have taken the coyote.
