2007 Gibson CJ-165 Rosewood

In June of 2007 I flew for the first time in my life. I saved for many months to pay for the trip and weaned myself off the hard core pain killers for my sciatica so I could actually remember the trip. I flew to Bozeman, Montana, for the second annual Gibson Homecoming, a three day event organized by Music Villa, a kickass music store in Bozeman, a handful of very dedicated Gibson fans, and Gibson's Acoustic Division in Bozeman, although I think they'd deny that officially (wink wink).

While I was there we did a lot of socializing, playing, singing, haunting Music Villa, and taking a tour of the Gibson factory. The whole trip was surreal to me, as I had never flown or in fact been very far from home. Bozeman is a beautiful place and the people are "just plain folks".

One of the highlights of the trip was the fact that two new Gibsons were given away in a random drawing. The CJ-165 and a Southern Jumbo were drawn and neither of the ticket holders were present.... so they drew names again and I won the CJ!
