My Travel Guitar
I started a new job in July of 2002, and they have a pretty intense training program, in which I spend many a night away from home, stuck at the Ramada Inn with my laptop, and not a lot to do. This is the guitar I take with me. It's a 1999 Squier Affinity Strat that I bought for $60. For some odd reason, the neck is GREAT! I made a bone nut for it, and installed Gotoh tuners. I swear, it is as good as any USA Strat I have ever owned! Luck of the draw? Maybe. I'm not arguing; it's a great guitar with minimal investment. I put a 70's style Strat decal on the headstock, not to fool anyone, just to act the fool, I guess. Looks real from a couple feet away!

This guitar doesn't get abused per se, but because it IS my "travel" guitar, it gets subjected to some temperature and humidity extremes, being stored in an ice cold Mazda overnight at 20 below, then drug into a warm motel room. The condensation forms on it so bad, I swear someday I'll get electrocuted. It's a great beater.
