The Proposal

On August 15, 2001 I had my first day of freshman orientation at Our Lady of the Lake University. I was supposed to stay the whole time, but I got bored and took off a little early to be with Darrell. A little while after I got home, Darrell came in. I was just laying on my bed watching television, and he started playing with my promise ring. He took it off of my finger, and I asked him to put it back on. He did, and then left the room. When he came back, he took my ring off, and I asked him to put it back on again. He did, I thought, until I looked up at him. He was holding my promise ring in front of my face. How did he make it feel like he put it back on? I looked at my finger, and there was the most beautiful diamond ring I had ever seen! He asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes!!!
