He's all alone now, in his room with no one to see him. His bags are packed with all he needs to get through his life. Its impossible for him to remember the happy moments that he had with his parents and sister. Things haven't been right ever since his sister never came back from that party night. Dangerous talk still lingers in his memory: divorce, separation, the screaming, they all haunt him.
No longer will he choose to suffer in this hell some would call home. His back pack strapped to him and a duffle bag over his shoulder is all he has. Theres now a resounding echo of screams coming from the other room. Slowly he walks to the window, unlatches it, and opens it. Half way out he takes one final look back at what used to be his room. He finally exits his prison and walks away. He never takes another look back as he turns the corner, never to remember the darkness that has shadowed his life.
He stood alone in my apartment; it was silent when suddenly he heard the burst of gunfire approaching from down the hall. He heard the screams coming from there as he ran and checked the time. It was 8:17, and Emily was supposed to be here by now. He suddenly became worried. He threw all caution to the wind as he dashed out the door. He looked through the hallway noticing that there she was, coming from the other end of the hallway. The gunshots still with a resounding boom from behind me as he went to go protect her.
He ran as quickly as he could and arrived to her, but something he never thought could happen did. A stray bullet came and hit him in his back. He fell forward watching closely as everything seemed to disappear into the darkness. Yet he noticed the ring fall out of his pocket and launch forward toward Emily. He took everything he could muster, looked up and said, “Emmy…….I………Love…..You.” He soon passed out never to awake from this nightmare. Emily opened the case to see a gold and diamond ring. She pulled it out and was in awe. She turned the ring and looked at it and discovered an inscription: For the only girl who truly ever meant anything to me.
