to be signed by the parent and returned to the office. Marcel will run another

K-8 Parent/Student Handbook Correction
On page 4, section II Attendance/Tardiness, the section on tardiness should
have read as follows: Thus, in 2002-03 students will be granted two unexcused
excused tardies. On the third unexcused tardy and all subsequent
unexcused tardies thereafter, they will be assigned an office detention or lose
a recess for that day. The principal or assistant principal will call the childs
parent.
Blank Bus NotesThank
you to all parents who have been using the blank bus notes sent home a few weeks
ago. However, only use these forms for bus transportation information.
If your child is going to be picked up for an appointment, picked up after school,
etc., it is okay to send in a handwritten note and not use a bus form.
Also, any time you need additional blank bus notes or absence notes, contact
the office and we will be happy to send you some more, or log on to the school
web site.

Cafeteria Help
The kitchen needs a volunteer to help serve the K- 2 lunch shift when pizza
is on the menu. K-2 eat lunch from 11:38 a.m. to 12:03 p.m. If you can volunteer
to help on pizza days, please contact the office.

From the Principals Desk _9/18/02
Starting on Monday, September 23 we will have Homework House available for students
in K-8 who need to catch up on their homework or who are in need of extra help.
Homework House will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons
2:40-3:40 p.m. It will be staffed by Sharon McGuffie or Chris Carter. Students
can either be assigned to Homework House by their teacher, or they can elect
to participate with parent permission. Parents will need to pick up their students
promptly at 3:40 p.m. This should provide a great opportunity for some students.
We prefer to limit the roster to 10 students per day. If you have questions,
please call the office.
