Emmanuel Louis Northington entered this world on August 14, 2000 at 5 p.m. He weighed 7 lb. 10 oz. and measured 19 in. in length. Emmanuel was welcomed by his older sister Jasmine, his parents and his grandparents. He was born with a heart defect. Because this condition was known prior to his birth, the doctors had already decided what course of action they were going to take.
On Thursday August 17, 2000 Emmanuel underwent what would have been his first of several operations to repair the condition of his heart. He came through the surgery fine, and as far as everyone knew he was well on his way to recovery.
After the feeding tube was removed, the Dr. said when he gained more weight he could go home. Emmanuel suddenly, on Oct. 3, 2000, with almost no warning, went to Heaven to join his Grandfather, who had went there a few yrs before. He was such a strong little fighter.
I am just sorry I never got to meet little Emmanuel myself. I work with Emmanuel's Grandma, and know how hurt she was at the passing of her only Grandson. We talk of him often. She smiles the biggest smile and has a "Grandma's twinkle" in her eyes as she remembers her short time with him. Emmanuel's parents live very far away from his Grandma, so she didn't get a chance to see him as much as she liked but she was so looking forward to seeing him and loving him as only the way a Grandma knows how.
God, Bless the Northington family, and be merciful with them. Please let Emmanuel know just how much he is loved and missed. We pray.
Directions to the Cross
When things don't go as
you had plannned,
When life seems to have
dealt you a bad hand,
Remember, you were chosen
just for the task.
When hope is a long
forgotten friend,
When you can see no
end in sight,
Remember, His ways are
not our ways.
When others say there
is no chance at all,
When there are no
tears left to cry,
Remember, He too was
condemmed to die.
When silence is a
close companion,
When you have been
tapped completely dry,
Remember, he came
to give us life.
When sadness has
overcome your smile,
When laughter no longer
has a sound,
Remember, He will never
for sake you!!!
