England

Immediately after visiting Malawi, Mary and I headed to England. Mary was studying at the University of Plymouth and I went to stay with her. Plymouth is where the Pilgrims took off from, way back when. I had a great time staying with her, meeting her friends, shopping and recovering from Africa (I was still a bit sick). We took a day trip to Penzance (the pirates, remember?) where we went to St. Michael's Mount. We also went to the Wee Wee Dos Festival at Padstow where we took in some Irish music, local festivities and sat near the harbor for the afternoon. I was sad to leave after almost two weeks but by this time I had arranged to move on to Greece.

Tea Time

Can you believe that this is the very first time I'd ever had tea?? Good thing I had Mary there to tell me how to serve it (with cream and sugar). This is the area's traditional cream tea - where you get tea and scones with jam and clotted cream. I am now a huge tea fan, with Earl Grey being my fave kind.

Padstow Harbor

This is the harbor at Padstow, a smaller town about an hour from Plymouth. We had taken a bus tour of sorts after a very late night out but it was worth it! We just enjoyed the scenery, met a few people, soaked up what sun we could and relaxed by all of these decorated boats!

St. Michael's Mount

This is Mary in front of St. Michael's Mount, which is the English equivilent to Mont St. Michael of France only this is much smaller in comparison. This walkway was almost completely under water when we walked back across about two hours later and they were taking people by boat instead.
