Shampoo have been playing gigs since the summer of 1993 but their glory moment came in 1994 when they were the support act for East 17's
Around the World tour...The faced thousands of screaming fans at Wembly stadium, screaming their famous lyrics to Trouble at the crowds. The bounced up and down and put their arms around each other and it caught the attention of the masses because they were so refreshing, standing head and shoulders (not the shampoo)ubove the other pop bands playing at the concert...even East 17 who long since split up. Shampoo got many new fans even though Brian Harvey said that they were the rudest girls he ever met in his whole entire life! Haha
THey also played a few road shows and small festivals, one being the "Just Seventeen" magazine's mini
festival. They headlined along with "Ant and Dec", they were then known as "Pj & Duncun" and Shampoo made no secret of the fact that they fancied them like mad! :-) Shampoo had a tough time breaking thru to the fans because back then, it ws not easy for a all Girl group to get the croweds going...It was the time of Take That and Boyzone and they weren't letting go of the spot light. It's a shame though, cos Shampoo's live shows are a million times better than Boyzone.
Shampoo gave one of their best concerts ever at the Liquid Room in Tokyo, Japan. The Japanese fans remain incredibly polite thru out the whole show, only clapping in between songs and screaming out to Jacqui and Carrie in hope that they will get a little wave from their fav girl.
