| Q. How sure are you that
the information is correct?
A. I try to provide very researched and thorough information. If I'm not completely sure about something, I will note that on the page. |
| Q. I had "insert
playset name" as a kid and I seem to remember that accessory was a
different color, why do you have it that color?
A. If you find something that you believe was different, or have a MIB playset that shows it's different, by all means, contact me! My information is not set in stone. Also, Hasbro often times issued different combs/ribbons/item colors during the duration of the playset's production run. |
| Q. Can I use your
information on a playset accessory page I'm doing on my site?
A. Sorry, but I usually will not give permission to use my information on your playset site. The reason being that I've put a lot of research and time into my own site and it wouldn't be fair to me. I recommend to you maybe thing twice about doing a playset accessory guide or accessory guide for individual ponies. There are many out there. Find something that needs to be done, like a site dedicated to just baby accessories and their variations or foreign playsets. Be creative and help the pony community at the same time. |
| Q. Where is the best
place to locate accessories to complete my playsets?
A. In order to find accessories, you will have to hunt. Good sites are ebay, the MLP trading post, and the Accessory Addicts Mailing List. There is no magic place that has everything you need. |
| Q. In the MLP collectors
guide by Debra Birge, The World of My Little Pony, the
accessories for "insert playset name" are different, why?
A. Some of the information in the collectors book is wrong. Debra did a lot of research on everything, but didn't get to just focus on the playsets like I have. It is still a good resource since she has pictures of the building, which I do not have on the page. |
| Q. In the Hasbro
advertising pamphlet/On the playset's box the accessory colors are
different than what you have, why?
A. The information in the ads, and particularly on the boxes can often be completely different from what was actually included. Usually the picture on the playset's box is a prototype production set and the style and color of the pieces or pony can be different. Noticeable examples are: Sprinkles is blue on the waterfall box and duck soup has different eyes/mouth, 85 percent of the items pictured on the Perm Shoppe box are completely different than what was actually included, the pictures on the boxes for DC re-release and Show Stable re-release (home sweet home) are of the original sets and not of the very different looking re-release sets. There are many other general mistakes/variations on the box pictures like these. In general boxes and pamphlets are not a very reliable source to get playset information from. However, the boxes were required by law to list the exact amount of contents and could not say that there was more included than there was. |
| Q. Where can I get
replacement elastic "necklaces" for the rattles?
A. All the baby rattles came with elastic bands to put through the rattle loop and hang around the baby ponies neck. The company "Goody" makes a dead-on match for these (I compared them against an original I have). The come in a package of 30 assorted colors and are simply (and ironically) called "pony elastics" as shown in this picture. I purchased my pack at the discount store "Target" and I assume you can find these at similar retailers and drug stores. |
| Q. Where can I get
replacement ribbons?
A. There's this myth that pony ribbons are irreplaceable and that they come in special "Hasbro colors". Pony ribbons are standard 1/4 inch woven edge double sided satin. They were made is standard colors. It is very very likely that Hasbro's supplier for the ribbons was "Offray", the bestselling brand of ribbon in the U.S. You can get all the exact colors of pony ribbons by sifting through Offray displays at the fabric store. |
| Q. Where can I find out
what accessories came with ponies?
A. Personally, I don't, for the most part, collect the individual ponies accessories so I don't know much on the subject. I suggest Dreamchaser's Accessory Guide. |
| Q. Is there a site that
lists information on foreign playset variations and foreign exclusive
playsets?
A. I do not know of a site for this. If you know of a place, please contact me. |
| Q. I've heard there was
a playset called "Sweet Ice Delight Cottage", but it's not
listed, why?
A. The "Sweet Ice Delight Cottage" was mentioned in a promotional ad. However, the set was never released for reasons unknown to me. Apparently Hasbro decided not to produce that set. See the ad here. |
