Hello there, do you remember me?
It was far away and long ago.
You said "I love you"  and me being
naive, believed you.

I tried to be what you wanted,
anything and everything. Nothing
I did was right, I was never
any good in your eyes.

You said I was fat (I wasn't), 
you said I had no brains (I did),
you said "Typical stupid female" and me
being convinced, believed you.

Each harsh word took away a bit of 
my life, you were killing me, but I 
loved you and I always prayed you'd
stop before I was gone.

On that last day, you took my
last breath with a cruel barb that
raked my raw and bleeding heart.
I fell to the floor and closed my eyes.

I heard you sob and cry my name and
say the words of love I longed to hear.
You said "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to
hurt you, I'll never hurt you again."

And me being free and gone believed you.......
