This Time No Cry Was Made

You watched them as they entered,
these staggered passers.

Some of them fell, and you laughed,
as they stumbled.

They watched you react
with hurt in their eyes.

Then you ceased to laugh
as you watched.

Again they press their paws upon the soil;
now shaky, and wet.

They arose, steady to the ground,
ready to try once more to pass.

Now again you made them fall,
brutally fast and hard.

This time no cry was made,
with no effort to stand.

Your smile fades,
as you glance upon your wrists.

The pain is what made you look,
as crimson trails away.

Now you realize,
it was you who was passing by.
