My Finch & Meaney Family Tree

This site is dedicated to my grandparents. Gramma and Grampa Finch, Senith Olive (Fairchild) and Frederick Conrad Finch and my Gramma Meaney, Mary Elizabeth (Bradley) Meaney. They were the kindest, most loving people that I have ever came into contact with in my life and I loved them very much.

I feel like a "Time Traveler" as I travel backwards into the dark space of time, to the "times" I could never see, but have always beckoned to me. Searching for the history of my family so I can write it all down for the generations coming up behind me, my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, ect., ect., ect. I am surprised at how many questions have been answered, things that happened when I was a child and have remained a mystery to me all these years. The further back I go in time, the more names I find that I have never heard before, and names that I did hear but never knew where they fit.
~Update-October 1999~ I have been "found" by three distant cousin who are doing the same as I, searching for our family history. The first to find my postings on the net was my dad's cousin, Margie who lives in Georgia. The next was the son-in-law of my cousin, Mary Lou, by the name of Terry, who lives right here in Michigan. And last, but by no means the least was my second cousin, Rich, who lives in Massachusetts.
-Update-November1999~ Another relative in Texas by the name of William found me! It just gets better and better! I am having a family reunion via the "World Wide Web"! Now here are only a few of the names that have come up in my/our search.
~Update April 2001~ Yet another branch and another set of cousins. This time it is my grandfather's biological family! I thought that it was going to be the most difficult branch to find. But I have found three "Dunker" cousins. Two live in the U.S., Helen and Pam, and one in England, Mary. Life is good!
Update-2002-I thought I would have a hard time finding anything on the "Meaney's" and I did. But I found that there are 3 different ways to spell "Meaney". Upon finding this out, thanks to the Ashtabula County Genealogy Society, I have now found two Meaney cousins and together we are trying to figure out the history of the "Meaney's". Chris and Mary are their names. This is getting interesting!

Finch, Kitch, Bradshaw, Dunker or Duncker, Townsend, Ulmer, Colley, Beamer or Beemer, Fairchild, Branton. Smith, Reed, Meaney, Bradley, DeVos, Ryan, Clintsman.

The "roots" of my family tree are in England, Germany, Holland and Ireland.

When I started searching, the only thing I knew about about my "Finch / Fairchild" family was that my grampa was a "Finch" that had been "abandoned" by his parents and that my Gramma was a "Fairchild" who had a sister named "Pearl". All the information that is here I got from, or at least with the help of, my cousin Margie who lives in Georgia, and who answered one of my many postings. I owe her a great deal since without her I would not know who I was "in time".

My father was one of ten children born to Frederick Conrad and Senith (Fairchild) Finch. Frederick Conrad (my grandfather) was born Frederick Conrad Bradshaw but when his parents divorced, he was put up for adoption and was adopted by Henry F. and Mary M. (Kitch) Finch right around 1898. He had an older sister named Alpha.

Before continuing to Gramma and Grampa's Pedigrees, look at their Photo Album.

I need to find the history of George Clifford and his father Benjamin Marvin/Morris Bradshaw also. These stories took place in Genesee County Michigan. Although Grampa's biological family on his mother's side is traceable back to Prussia in the 1790's, the Bradshaw story stops with Morris and Eliza.
