My Journey to London...
August 31st, 2002

This is my part in an extraordinary documentary
about the three most recognized icons of the 20th Century
Elvis,The Pope,
And Diana, Princess of Wales..

"Faithful"
Those who have faith...
I have always had faith in Diana...
And I always will....

~~~Note~~
In keeping with my policy
of not profitting in anyway from Diana,
I have received no payment of any kind
for my participation in this documentary..
As with my web site honoring Diana..
In my poetry and prose...
It was a complete
Labor of Love..
~~Maria~~
Annie Berman and Sara Theriault of Fish in Hand Productions
Asked me to read one of my poems I left in honor of Princess Diana
In front of Kensington Palace.
I read
The Magic of a Moment"
This poem travels with the Pink Ribbons Crusade for Breast Cancer
A Date With Diana
On their tribute CD and raises money for breast cancer awareness.The poem was donated by me...and I receive no profit from the Pink Ribbons Crusade..I explained to Sara and Annie how I wanted to make a differance using my talents and love for Diana..Making a difference...In small ways..My personal tribute to the Princess...
We can all make a difference..
Princess or Housewife...
She did..
So will I...
Setting up for interviewing Gill Marsellies and me
Gill and I started talking..Sara and Annie started tapeing..and we forgot they were even there.
Gill and I meet for the first time after being on-line friends for 2 years..we bonded immediatly.Gill and her late best friend Ruth were the first to lay flowers in front of KP the night Diana died and from those two bouquets a mountain of flowers grew..She and Ruth collected and presented over 7500 signatures to Tony Blair asking for a suitable memorial in Diana's memory..As of yet.. an oval ditch is the best they have come up with..and Gill protests on her bench as she does every year as she will untill she can longer physically go there for Diana's memorial fountain..
"Faithful" to me..means never giving up..in spite of obstecles..or pressure..
As I say in the introduction to my website..
You can't always explain or justify how you feel..
It just IS how you feel...
And who you are..
Annie Berman and Sara Theriault interview one of the faithful at Kensington Palace
The press was out in full force that day..
Though you would never have realized it from the lackluster coverage the papers gave the anniversary of Diana's death....
But hey..The "Faithful" knew...
We were there...
We saw the thousands of floral tributes left in her honor..
Faith is faith...
In God..In someone you love..
In humanity..
Even in yourself..
Sara records my day at Althorp.
She and Annie traveled on the long train ride with me to Althorp and saw for themselves the beauty of her brothers memorial to his sister...and a to a princess...
Fish in Hand documents my journey to Althorp as I leave my book of poems and flowers in Diana's memory.
My flowers and poems for Diana
I was a little wary at first..revealing my deepest feelings to two complete stangers on the other side of the world..
But as I talked to Annie and Sara over three days,I came to trust them to present me as I was..in a way that someone else could recognize themselves and know they are not alone in their feelings..I talked about Diana's life and death and how she affected me..and what she meant to me...Diana took me places I never thought of going..aids wards..leper colonies..walking with the homeless...Seeing the world as it really is and trying to change it in some way..
One person at a time..
No I never knew Diana...but I always had Faith in her..
Because she cared..I did too..
Thank you Annie and Sara for allowing me to be part of your documentary..
I hope this positive statement from me...and my journey and those others who Diana's life touched..will explain a little about "Faith" and believing...
And you will get to know about one woman..
That is me.. Who walked in Diana's footsteps...
And maybe didn't find Diana...But found herself..
and what she could do to make a difference..
I hope so anyway...
Annie and I share a hug
