The Elder

Aramis kneeled down and braced the child in his arms. The rock had damaged his head severly. Aramis looked at Ace. "Is there anything you can do?"

Ace looked grim. "My magic can only manipulate the air. I can't teleport far through solid rock. I could run, but by the time I got to my laboratory and back with a healing spell it would be too late."

Aramis looked sadly at the child. "Oh, Pocky, I don't want you to die."

Pocky smiled a smile of reassurance. "But there's nothing you can do about it, just as we you can't stop the sun from rising day to day." Pocky place a hand on Aramis face. "Things change, nothing stays the same. Enjoy the beauty of life as much as you can. I am very glad to have meet the chosen one. I feel you have the power to change everything."

A tear ran down Aramis face.

"Don't cry for me," Pocky said. "We will meet again some day." Aramis tried to be strong, but it was hard. Pocky looked at the ceiling. "I want my mama," he said. Pocky closed his eyes and the life left from him.

"No," Aramis said. He held Pocky close to him.

Suddenly the ground began to shake. Next to the Fire of the Ancients a swirling blue rift opened in the air. The room darkened and the blue light flashed and shaped the room. A naked woman with ghost white skin stepped out of the portal. She was tall and had a perfectly shaped body. Her hair was a shiny silver. Her eyes so blue and her lips the color of the red rose. She walked over to Aramis and reached out for the child. Aramis stood up and handed Pocky to her. She smiled and cradled him in her arms. Ace, Gemini, and the children watched in awe. She turned and placed Pocky in the portal. He disappeared in a flash of light. The woman then walked over to the Fire of the Ancients. She reached into the fire and pulled out a sword. It glowed and was solid gold. She smiled and handed the sword to Aramis. "I thank you for caring for my child. Take this sword with the power of the Earth and destroy the evil which would kill everything." Aramis smiled at her. "Thank you." She nodded her head and walked back into the portal. It closed and the room returned to normal.

"That's the first time I've seen her in person," Ace said.

"Who was that?" Aramis asked.

"That was Mother Earth. The Elder gave her consciousness human form. She cares for everybody and is everybody's mother."

Aramis smiled and held up the sword.

"Now, come with me, we have one final thing to take care of before I send you off." .
