The Elder

Aramis walked gently through the forest. Anything more and his tired body ached. The full moon above lit the forest really well. The moon goddess Selene smiled down upon Aramis.

Within the night beside the chirps of the crickets and other insects came the sound of crackling. Aramis froze and looked into the darkness. What was there? He didn't have to wait long to find out. A huge brown bear came out of the forest darkness and right toward him. Aramis turned and started run. Pain surged through every inch of his body. Soon he came to an open field. "Great," he said, "now there's no place to hide." He turned and looked. The bear was right behind him. It stood on its back legs. A menacing ten feet tall.

Aramis took a deep breath. "Who's gonna save you now, Aramis?" he said. Suddenly the light of the moon was blanketed. The bear got back down on all fours and turned to run. Aramis looked up just in time to dunk the red dragon's claws. The dragon grabbed the bear and took it high into the air. The bear had become its late night snack.

Aramis let out a sigh of relief. His body burned. He started walking more uneasy then before. Soon he was back in the forest. He could no longer fight exhaustion. He was willing to let himself die just to have some rest. He dropped to the ground. His body rolled off a hillside.
