33 Wk OB appt today, lost 2 1/2 pounds, heartbeat was good, bp was good, found a trace of protein in my urine, Dr. says its not enough to worry about. I'm still worrying though. Carrie & Sarah came with us today, they heard baby's heartbeat for the first time. We had Siblings at birth & brothers & sisters to be classes today. Got to take the kids on a tour of the OB/Labor & Delivery unit at the hospital. They got to see the room that we will birth in (or one like it) and the nursery, which was full of babies! There were about 18-20 babies in there. They were so cute, I wanted to take a few of them home with me!~ Standing there looking at them I kept thinking, in just a few short weeks that will be my little baby lying in one of those bassinets...I almost cried. We go back for next appt on May 29th, at 10 am.
Today is an anniversary for John and I. 12 Years ago today was our first date and the beginning of our relationship. He took me to Don Pablos Mexican Kitchen in Murfreesboro tonight, I've been wanting to try that place out. It was delicious! We went shopping, bought some stuff to finish up our bathroom project, got the Avent bottles I have been wanting for the baby also. We had a nice time, celebrated my birthday also.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! I'm 27 today. My mom gave me $20, John cooked dinner tonite, Lasagna, it was pretty good. We had icecream and a "brownie" cake, I blew out candles for the first time in years. It was a nice birthday.
Dottie has broken her leg tonite! Front right leg. Had to take her to the vet, he kept her overnight. Said he would set her leg in a splint while he put her to sleep, and give her pain meds. I'm so heartbroken, I miss her so much.
Got to bring Dottie home tonite at 4:30. She's not herself at all, very whiney, being a baby, but I know she's hurting and really scared/upset and not sure why this thing is on her leg. She's so pitiful, just wants me to hold her constantly, kept me up all night, at least I'm getting some practice for a new baby huh!
Dottie seems to be getting back to her old self today, still wants me to hold her a lot but she's begun to bark again and chewing, I'm so much happier. She has to keep her cast on til July 5th! *bad timing* John took me back to Don Pablos today, mmmmm yummy!
Had my 35 week appt. today. I am measuring at 37 weeks! Baby's heartbeat sounds good, and my BP is fine. Mentioned the mucus plug loss on Sunday, didn't seem to be any concern to the Nurse Practicioner. Didn't get to see my regular Dr. today. Oh well, we go back on Thursday June 7th.
Well today has been a rough day. I haven't felt well all day. Got these crampy feelings, like I was going to start my period. Went to Tullahoma to pick my mom up from the hospital, had lost some more mucus plug this morning. There was a little speck of blood on the TP when I was at the hospital also. Around 5:30 I had a painful contraction, then just started feeling worse. By 6:30 my back was killing me and I started having contractions. They didn't really hurt, but I felt lots of pressure. They were coming every 4 minutes, finally at 7:30 I decided we better call Dr. Taylor. Well, he wasn't on call, but the other Dr. said come to the hospital and get checked out.
We left the girls at church with John's mom, and took off around 8:00. Got pulled over by the police before we made it to Murfreesboro. We told the officer that I was in labor and she said ok, no problem, get there. So off we go again, the contractions still coming every 4 minutes. They hooked me up to the machines and I was having contractions every 3 minutes, and dilated to 2 centimeters. We gotta stop this they said. They gave me 3 shots of Terbutaline to stop the contractions. Dr. Taylor came in and checked to see if my water was leaking, it wasn't. He put me on Terbutaline pills until next week and BEDREST for a week also. he said if I go into labor after June 7th he won't stop it and we will deliver. He did a quick ultrasound and the baby is head down. Looks like we may go early!
Went to the Dr. today for my 36 week appt. I had my Group Beta Strep test, don't know the results yet. Also had a cervix check, am still dilated to 2cm, nothings changed. Baby is still head down but a little high. We had an ultrasound. Baby looks good but is measuring big, weighing about 8 lbs 3 oz!!! OMG this baby is going to be huge. And I'm measuring at 39 weeks by U/S also. Amniotic fluid levels are good.
Talked to Dr. Taylor after the U/S. Asked him if he would induce me on the 16th due to the baby's size, he won't!!! He said if I don't have the baby by 39 weeks , and if my cervix is opening more then he will induce me then, but no sooner, unless we have a medical reason. At any rate we won't go over my due date. If I go into labor between now and July 4th he will let me deliver, so we are going to try lots of things to get me to go into labor this week. I hope it works! Also we saw the baby's genitals, and there's no doubt about it, HE IS STILL A BOY!!! I was so relieved to see the penis in full detail, we are so happy. We got to see his face, and all his body parts look good too. Carrie and Sarah were with us and they were just excited to see the baby in such detail this time. It was a really nice day. We went out to O'Charleys for lunch afterward. So no matter what, in 26 days or less JACOB THOMAS COX will be born, and in my arms! I can't wait! BTW, I have U/S pics I am putting up today, look for them on the site~!
