Automotivational Living

Unknowingly, we may be guilty of adhering to another gospel. Galatians 1 warns against this. You see, here in America, we preach a Jesus that you take along with you on your journey. But the Jesus of the Bible says, "If you will follow Me, you may accompany Me on My journey."
Look at God, not as someone who will get you through the day, but know that heaven awaits you to join an encounter with God each day. It's about His purposes, not our own. Functioning under God's automated system is better than trying to motivate yourself to get in gear. This shift in thinking gives a refreshing approach to life. The songs that were once background music come to have heart! We experience a whole new motivation for doing, and a joy in being. An anticipation of co-working with the Lord who goes before us brings delight and more accomplishment(Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart" does not become a pretense for selfish gain, because the desires of our heart become a yearning to delight in Him!).
Make sure when you pray, you are not asking God to strengthen YOUR EFFORTS for anything particular. He may be wanting you to realize your weakness so you can get your eyes off the task you've planned and put your eyes on a walk with Him in another direction.
Haven't you longed not to have yourself preoccupied with earthbound things here so you can attend wholeheartedly to His purposes? If God be for us who can be against us? He's been backing us with His Word this whole time to break free of the insignificant into His great big world where His plans dominate the agenda. It is not such a balancing act when you agree to lose your life. Christianity is only a struggle when you don't fully want to surrender. Any difficulty in moving ahead with God is due to a secret trust in ourselves.
