We have no idea what great effect a lifetime of faithfulness to God has. It sets a chain reaction of uncalculatable ingredients into not just one or a group of people's lives, but countless ones, and generations to follow. Try to imagine it all. Had other followers of God in history been able to see the permanence that their faith accomplished, it would have inspired them to do even more. If saints of old could have peeked into the future & seen all the songs and writings attributed to them and the profound effect it has had on others for Christ, they would have derived even more confidence to live only for Him.
Not only should we be aware that our whole life will immeasurably influence the course of others; we also should never underestimate the value of one day's worth of living in the Lord, which is shaping destinies all around us. Their lives are tied to our obedience. We either confer or withhold blessings upon an innumerable amount of precious people due to our response or lack of response to God each day.
What if a nation is at stake through your prayers? When you begin to think of this as all too incredible, remember that God has already used many throughout history as examples for us. The landscape of society would be tremendously different if people like Christopher Columbus or Martin Luther King or Mary, the mother of Jesus did not rightfully embrace their pivotal place in time. And each of these could have pointed out their circumstances to excuse themselves from destiny!
