Here is an example of the Identification Plate found on vehicles prior to 1989. On passenger cars, trucks, and Land Cruisiers, the ID plate is located on or adjacent to the firewall within the engine compartment. On vans, the plate is located on the body, under a carpet flap directly under the front passenger seat. The data on my tag can be found at the top of the page. Here is an example of the Identification Label found on vehicles manufactured from 1989 to 1999. On passenger cars, the ID Label is located on the inside of the driver's door.
