Footwear

How many times have you thanked your parents
for all that they have done for you?
How often have you thanked your teacher,
or your maidservant, or liftman,
cab-driver, friends, peon, secretary, pet,
... Do you thank your food before starting to gorge,
or your footwear without which
you ordinarily would have found difficult
to move out of the house?

The list goes on, doesn't it?
It only underlines the fact
that we never exist alone.

Attitude of gratitude - that's the name of the game.
A game, if you may call it one.
Take my word - it's the best solution for stress.

Here's how it works.
In any situation - good or bad -
just be in a state of gratitude.
If your boss shouts at you,
simply thank him for doing so!

If your mother makes you nice dinner, thank her.
Or if your kid relieves herself on you,
especially on your new dress,
thank her profusely.
Difficult and incredulous that this may sound,
it works wonders in not only relieving stress
but also in creating positive thoughts.

This concept makes perfect sense
if you just dwell on it for a while.
It's the perfect remedy for conquering your ego.
When the ego is conquered,
energy blocks are removed.
That paves the way for the easy flow of positive energy.
And naturally, when that happens...

Still not convinced?

Okay, consider this then. In order to read this article,
how many things/people should you be grateful to?
Go on, think about it.
I can think of a minimum of 10 factors
to which I have to be grateful to.

Want to know the list? Here goes.....

1. You have to be grateful to me for writing this article.

2. To my editor for allowing me to publish this

3. To The Times of India for giving me space to publish this article.

4. To the computer on which I typed it.

5. To the publishing industry and the technology
for making it readable for the general public.

6. To your body parts which are helping you read the article.

7. To the chairs, lights, tables in your house.

8. To your teachers and parents for helping you learn English

9. To your pen and pencils without which
you would not have been able to write your English examinations.

10. If you are reading during the daytime,
then be grateful to the sunlight;
if it's night, thank your lighting fixtures.

I could go on and add about 50-60 more
reasons to be grateful.
But the reason for the example is simple:
your very existence is dependent on
so many different factors, without which
you will not even be able to move a stone.
When you view any situation in this light,
nothing seems overwhelming.
No problem seems overpowering. Just say, "thank you,"
and move on. Life looks a lot more healthy
then, doesn't it ?

Convinced? Thank you. Not convinced yet?
Thank you all the more!
