The rules are actually quite simple. The kid's divisions are won by points for specific holds, and no submissions are allowed. The rules are not based on one style or another, and the holds are all easy for kids to perform, even the smaller kids can play and score from guard. The kid's sumo competition is also real easy to understand. The first kid to be thrown down or leave the mat area is out of the competition. The adult rules are win by submission, or if no tap out occurs, by the 3 judges choice. There are no points in the adult divisions. Most submission holds are legal, except for heel hooks in lower divisions, they are allowed in advanced fighting spots... There is no striking allowed is this tournament. The junior divisions are 2 minutes in length, and adult competition lasts 4 minutes. The finals in all adult divisions are 6 minute matches, and in the King of the Skirmish 8 minutes. SKIRMISH IS WHERE THE ACTION IS!
