My Animals...

Guardian Of This Page

No, that's not one of my animals. But hey, what can I say?

Actually, I just thought it looked good.;)

Ok, here is a list of my animals, starting with the dog.

First and foremost is Mercedes, a German Shepherd/Wolf Hybred. She is about 8 yrs. old and getting older (lol don't we all?), but a great dog nonetheless! If she were a full Shepherd, she would be a black/tan. But since she has the Wolf in her, she tends to be a little silver...(and it's not just because of her age.;) It is like silver overlaid with black. Beautiful!
Except for her color, she could be a full-blood Shepherd. It's that sliver and her cute black-tipped tail...;)
One day I was out with the dogs, and a foster dog was swimming in the neighbors' cowpond while I supervised and suddenly (now this is a large dog let me remind you, Champ a Chow/Golden Retriever mix) Champ suddenly threw his head back and started swimming for all he was worth! He looked panicked and I was just about to jump in after him when Mercedes jumped up and took a flying leap into the cowpond! She dissapeared from sight, but then she was up again and swam quickly to Champ and I guess calmed him and swam beside him to the bank. And when they climbed out she checked him over and she must have found him ok 'cause they ran over to me and a little later we left. (I think Champ was really spooked he stuck to me like glue till we got back.:)

Knute (pronounced noot)another German Shepherd/mix. I don't really think he had much of anything else besides Shepherd, but I don't know for sure. He was black/cream and very big! He was handsome huh?
Yes I speak of him in past tense, he died on Aug. 11 '00. What we believe killed him was a mixture of heartworms and heat. There was no warning, he seemed healthy as could be, but when I woke of that morning he was dead, just like that. The night before he'd been bouncing around like Tigger (he always did that) and acting perfectly normal...*sigh*
All I can say is have your dogs checked for heartworms...it may save their lives.
Knute
Even though he's no longer with us I may just leave him on this page...or perhaps make him a tribute page, so keep checking in.

We have 3 cats, one of which is mine. He (Spooky) is a short-haired pitch black sweetheart!! I just got him a few days ago so when I can get the pics developed I sure will put one up!
Now Pudge is my Moms' cat. He is as you can see by the pic, rather large. Quite a hunter, but very gentle to us and sweet in his own masculine way.;)

Big Boy is a creamola tabby, and a pretty good size too although nowhere near as big as Pudge! He is more thick, like his fur is almost wooly giving him a puffy look.:)

The other two dogs that were on here have been adopted to good homes so I took them off...when I get a new puppy I will put it here...I never could handle having just one dog, always wanted two. And poor Mercedes is so forlorn and heartbroken, she misses Knute too, I think the both of us need a puppy...
