CRAFT

PORTLAND MAINE

The Portland Maine Maintenance Craft represents approximately 110 craft employees. Our positions include Level 3 Laborer/Custodians. Level 4 Group Leaders. Level 5 Maintenance Mechanics. Level 5 Support Clerks and Level 6 Support Technicians. Level 7 MPE Mechanics and Building Equipment Mechanics. Level 8 Area Maintenance Technicians and Level 9 Electronic Technicians. Our craft members work on all three shifts providing 24-hour coverage to seven different locations in Portland and the surrounding communities, as well as Field Service and Area Maintenance throughout southern and coastal Maine and as far north as Waterville. Our membership boasts some of the best and most highly recognized Mechanics, Technicians and Support staff in the country. We are proud of our achievements and of our ability to maintain modern machinery, high tech optical character reading equipment as well as state of the art computer systems and fiber optic networks. Much of the equipment in our area of expertise is valued at over a million dollars apiece. We as a craft welcome and thrive on this responsibility. Our craft has the ability, the drive and the upward mobility to ensure the productivity of the Postal Service well into the next century. It is a goal of our Union to ensure our own viability by exposing waste, fraud and abuse by management and to protect and serve our membership. We band together to defend ourselves from the overeager management meatheads who lie, cheat and back stab craft members, as well as respected management folks. For we know that they do this for their own promotion and not for the betterment of the Postal Service and we aim to expose them. United, we stand. Proud to be Unionized. Together we will thrive and succeed. Welcome to the Maintenance Craft Web site, glad to have you on board.
