                   St. Jude among top Catholic schools

St. Jude Educational Institute is among the top 50 Catholic high schools 
in the nation, according to the Catholic High School Honor Roll released 
Thursday.

The co-ed, 125-student Montgomery school is run by the Archdiocese of 
Mobile and is also recognized as a category leader for its strong civic 
education.

"I am grateful that St. Jude Educational Institute has received this 
distinct honor," Mobile Archbishop Oscar Lipscomb said in a statement. 
"Being recognized by the Catholic High School Honor Roll is a 
well-deserved recognition, especially in view of past obstacles in 
enrollment and financing. I applaud all of the administrators, faculty, 
staff and students."

The Catholic High School Honor Roll is an independent project of the 
Acton Institute for the Study of Religion & Liberty, an international 
research and educational organization based in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The primary goal of the honor roll is to encourage schools to educate 
students as effectively as possible, in a way that integrates Catholic 
faith and prepares students for active engagement with the world.
