With a voice that emulated the legendary singer, Siddharth Meghani from Mumbai sure had Elvis fans rockin’ to the music at the Poona Goan Institute. Dressed in Elvis’ trademark white outfit replete with sidelocks and flashy buttons and belt, Siddharth wowed the audience by belting out numbers that were so like Elvis! Be it Rock-n-roll, Blue Suede shoes, Teddy Bear, Suspicious Mind, The Wonder of You, Little Darling and Can’t help fallin in love with you, the 20-something Gujarati-Sindhi simply fitted into Elvis’ groove. To complement Siddharth was local band Strange Brew who did a good job by singing Besame Mucho, Roadhouse Blues and Top of the World. Sadly, exams beginning Monday saw a rather tame turnout, admits Savio Mascarenhas, General Secretary, PGI. But then for those present, it was the sheer wonder of Elvis.
