On April 11th we were contacted by Armed Forces Entertainment for a tour to Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Guam, Okinawa and Kwajalein.We were to perform 17 shows in six countries.On August 10th we awoke and headed for the airport with 5 - 70 pounds suitcases along with our carry-on. Thirty Two hours later we were checking into our hotel in Seoul. We were met at the Airport by our drivers Mr Hwang & Mr Tae.We didn't get much rest due to jet lag and meeting our directors at 8:30am.
August 10 - September 9, 2005
Our first stop was Seoul South Korea. We performed two shows, Youngson Army Base & Osan Air Force Base. At Youngsan the audience size was almost 400 along with TV, radio and newspaper reporters.At Osan We met friends stationed in Youngson Army Base from Miami that we had not seen for 23 years. Go figure.
We stayed at the Capitol Hotel in Downtown Seoul (as the hotel on base was full) which was wonderful as we could walk downtown and shop. Our show at Osan Air Force Base went extremely well but Nicky could no perform the Balloon Mayhem part of her show as it would have disturbed to Sunday Brunch. Everyone received balloon animals and rocket balloon to take home. After spending $480 on excess baggage leaving Seoul, We arrived at Camp Zama, Japan. Our first day was greeted by a 7.2 earthquake. A little nerve racking. Vickey Roy of Lewiston Maine asked if I would give an award to some of our wonderful serviceman and women for their service to our country.We gave four awards to the four branches of the service we came in contacted with.
