John Jabez Harrison,our PaPa, was father of John Jay Harrison. The middle name, Jabez, was confused throughout the years as Jaber, Javus, Jabers and possibly others. A copy of a family bible at the State Archives showed an uncle,named Jabez P.May. Daddy (Jay) always said that his father was named after his mother's brother - hence, Jabez.
