Arion Lodge History

Arion Lodge est.1871

Originaly named Excelsior, the name was changed to Arion by the first Master of the Lodge, R. Wayne Bradeen, there being a lodge at Northport Maine, named Excelsior. The first Lodge convened over the store of Tripp & Gilpatrick. The rooms were fitted up as a lodge room and became the home of Arion Lodge until the building was destroyed by fire Febuary 9, 1899. The jurisdiction of the new lodge included the towns of Lyman, Dayton, Southern Hollis and Southeastern Waterboro. The present lodge was finished in 1987, and on Sept.3 of that year the members of Arion lodge proudly held their first stated meeting
