Life Of A Typical Malay - June 1999
Saturday 19/6/1999
Went out for lunch at 3-00 pm, today being half-day for some office workers, nicht viele Leute. Nicht zu besetzt. Then to PKNS Complex for some shopping. Shah Alam ni kampung sikit, nak cari barang yang branded memang susah, kalau setakat baju Orlando tu adalah, tapi kalau nak cari Pierre Cardin, Pierre Balmain atau Polo, memang tak ada, setahu aku memang tak ada.
Malam ni betul-betul boring, made and received a few calls, Bahrim, Fauzi, En Sharid, Subra and Alex.
Oh, my homestate team (Pahang) won the League Cup tonight. Way to go Pahang.

Went jogging around Shah Alam lake, well, not really jogging. Banyak berjalan daripada berlari. Then to Section 2 for breakfast, the place was crowded with ITM students, new semester just started I guess.
Left for Sepang at 11-00, took the old Dengkil road. So much developments going on, especially at Putrajaya (new administration city), Cyberjaya and along the way to Sepang Airport. Reached Kg Labu Lanjut at about midday, Mak Munah, my former tea lady was home. She was so surprised to see me again, after more than 3 years. Then to Abang Mat's house (my former driver - I had my own driver when working at KLIA) but he was away in Malacca. Then to Bukit Unggul to visit Wak, Hamdan's former driver. Hamdan ajak aku datang rumah dia, tapi aku kata aku dah terlewat. Einige andere Zeit möglicherweise. Said my Zohor at Masjid Jenderam Hulu. Reached home at 4-30 pm and took a nap until 6-00 pm.

I didn't at all feel good today. Kepala aku rasa pening semacam je, macam-macam minyak aku taruk, dari minyak cap kapak sampai minyak but-but. Minyak kelapa je yang aku tak taruk. So I just spent my day in bed. Bila keadaan macam tu baru aku banyak berfikir, fikir pasal life, fikir pasal macam-macam benda. Berlambak-lambak benda datang kat kepala aku, dari benda kecik-kecik sampailah masalah negara, semuanya datang bertubi-tubi. Tambah sakit kepala aku.
Aku rasa one of these days Ich muß gehen, einen Doktor zu sehen. Kali akhir aku pergi Hospital, aku rasa more than 5 years ago. Masa tu aku accident, pengsan satu hari, seminggu kat Hospital. Sampai sekarang aku tak ingat how the accident happened. Apa yang aku boleh ingat, masa tu aku baru keluar dari office, at about 6-00 pm.Lepas tu, blank. Yang aku boleh ingat balik, aku sedar the very next day, kaki, tangan dan kepala aku ada banyak stitches.
Merepek pulak aku ni lah, "tak kan" pasal tu kot....itulah, bila masa sakit benda bukan-bukan yang selalu datang kat otak aku ni...
As expected, market closed lower tonight. Not too low though, just 50 points lower than Friday. Some kind of correction. And there was no sign of frost in the next 7 days or so. Technically, all the indicators show signs of bullish trend. I am not at all good at technical analysis, more towards fundamental aspects. I do transactions based on fundamentals, not technical.

I was up early than usual, 10-30 am. Good, considering the fact I went to bed just 4 hours before. To Maybank and withdrew some money, Subra's profit for the month of May '99. Waited for him at the carpark of my apartment, he called at 12-30 pm. He was still at the office. To section 9 for lunch, he arrived just when I was about to finish eating. We didn't talk long,he was kind of busy.
It rained heavily after Asar. Installed a few new programs from 'net cd. What a download junkie!
Hantu betul, Kumar dengan Dominic didn't turn up tonight. I was all alone, well, except for a few traders from Tim's group. Spent most of my time on-line, checking news on bridge.com,binews.com,commodityexpert.com etc. Price closed higher than yesterday. And that really puzzled me. Fundamental correction was the reason. Lucky I did not enter market tonight.

Oh,what a day today. I had 7 people signing my guestbook, welcoming me to RAOK Webring, Random Acts Of Kindness .Never before seramai ini orang tandatangan buku pelawat aku. The most was 5, a few months ago .I had a stream of visitors, mostly from RAOK and a few search engines. Too bad one of my counters was down, only CounterCom recorded all the stastics. I traced some of my referrer links, a few links originated from altavista and infoseek.Ada yang tulis search for "chris de burgh", "a life less ordinary", "a different corner", "civil engineer data" etc.
All these links lead to my homepage. There was even one search, "different ways of masturbation". I guess the word "different" played its part here. So, basically my page is scattered all over the web I guess. I'm going to try typing a few words right after this to see where the search leads me to.
The system at the office was down tonight, the server. We could not get any data, blank screen. Lucky no one holding open positions. Kalau tidak, haru jugak dibuatnya, tambah-tambah sesiapa yang having small margin capital. I managed to connect to bridge.com and we just checked the price movements from my laptop instead of asking Ricky and Hamli to call Norbiton every minute.Tapi letih jugak aku, pasal kena press that "reload" button every 2 minutes to see "current price".

Didn't go to the office tonight, just stayed home "watching" the market thru' my laptop. Kewl, maybe one day I will just trade from home, like many Americans do. Oh, dreaming again....Kumar called on my mobile, asking me to come to the office but it was already 12 midnight. Price went down by nearly 3 points tonight.
Spent the rest of the night, well, right until Subuh checking a few commodity related websites.Commodityexpert.com just posted a message on their homepage reminding us traders/brokers to register to surf their page. Starting from July 1st they are going to charge USD 48 for subscription. USD 48? Wow, that's bloody lots of money for a trader like me....
Watched a movie called Less Than Zero, it turned out to be a very touching story. Tears rolled down our eyes, my eyes and the 2 actors', Andrew McArthy and Robert Downing Jr. Well, tough guys do cry......Me, tough? ...*LOL*... yea, not too afraid to be strong and not too afraid to be a gentleman, that's me...
