Multiple Intelligences

Why I'm Excited About Multiple Intelligences Theory

To put it simply, Multiple Intelligences theory explains why people
are intelligent in different ways. Why people learn
different things in different ways
and at different rates. Why we see different things
in the same situation.
Why one kind of education is not going to work for everyone.

In these pages I hope to share basic information about
Multiple Intelligences Theory, with the links below, specifics about MI ideas
used in English Language learning
in Japan, and student comments about what we've been doing.

I've written about my own experiences, as a teacher, of learning about
Multiple Intelligences and beginning to experiment with them in my EFL
classes in " Learning about Multiple Intelligences."

I've put up a paper " Combining Multiple Intelligences"
written by one of my students, Tomoko Hagiwara, about her
personal research on Multiple Intelligences.
Part of her research was interviewing people about which intelligences
they used in their work. Very interesting indeed... .

Watch this site for frequent updates.

At this point in the development of MI theory,
the most difficult information to find
is the kind I want,
Information about the use of MI theory in language learning
and intercultural communication
.
