Where is Raoul? In truth, Raoul is an enigma. It’s been rumored that he is a distant cousin of Papa Earnest Hemmingway...or was it Popa Chubby? Some say it’s Pancho Villa...or was that Pancho & Lefty? We personally think it was Jason Eckhardt, though, don’t ya know...

About 20 years ago during a particularly obscene heat wave down south, Raoul decided to head north. Lucky for us he got turned away at the Canadian border and wound up right here in Portland, Maine. In Raoul’s estimation, there was only one thing that this town was missing - an old-fashioned rockin’ roadhouse. He proceeded to collaborate with restaurateur Russell Turner and “Raoul’s Roadside Attraction” was born. Russell has since moved on, but Raoul’s has remained to become (if not world famous) a Portland tradition.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON...

Last year, Raoul decided that his old roadhouse needed a change; which came in the form of some new partners. Yep, it was time to bring in the Big Guns. We’ve endeavored to give Raoul’s Roadside Attraction a little old-fashioned CPR.

Raoul and his new partners-in-crime have collected some truly awe-inspiring new menu items, fantastic specialty drinks, a great lineup of beers, and some of the hottest national, regional, and local acts in New England. Not to mention a few cosmetic changes... a face lift, if you will; which I’m sure you’ve noticed by now...

So, if you’re lookin’ for a really friendly spot for food, fun, drink & live entertainment in the “outstanding” category; we think you’ll agree that you’ve come to the right place...

And the legend of Raoul continues every time you stop in and enjoy Raoul’s Favorite Drink !!!

Raoul changes this from time to time, so keep current. If you tell the bartender the right drink, you’ll get a buck off of your drink! The first one anyhow.
