People Need The Lord
2 Timothy 4:16-18

Introduction: The life of a Christian is often a lonely life. It is often a depressive life. And sometimes even a dangerous life.
But like Paul we can say the "Lord stood with me!"

There are many needs in life but the greatest need of all: People need the Lord!

I. People Need The Lord In Life:
A. We need Him to guide us:
"For this God is our God forever and ever: He will be our GUIDE even unto death." - Psa 48:14
1. If you have a decision facing you, try to find the mind of the Lord. The greater the decision
the greater will be the need to wait for God's guidance.
2. God wants to guide us in all our affairs, however, no matter how small they shall be
"In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall directi thy paths." - Prov 3:6 br>
B. We need Him to protect us:
"The Angel of the Lord, encampeth round about them that fear him and, deliverth them," - Psa 34:7

1. It is getting to be a dangerous world every day.

Murder
Rape
Arson
Terrorist
Alcohol
Drugs

C. We need Him to strengthen us:  v.17

D. We need Him to provide for us:
"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." - Phil 4:19

E. We need Him to save us:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." - Eph 2:8
        1. The greatest need we have today, if you are not saved, is to be saved.

II. People Need The Lord In The Hour of Death:

A. This is a truth we do not want to face, but it will come one day
B. Christians need not to fear death; we have someone to hold our hand to walk with us through that valley
"Ye, though I walk throught the valley of the shadow of DEATH, I will fear no evil, for thou aret with me: thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."  - Psa 23:4
1. Our friends and love ones may walk with us up to the brink of death, but they can go no further. The Lord is the only one who can walk with us all the way.

III. People Need To Know This Wonderful Lord:
A. He can be your saviour, you can be His child
"He came unto His own and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God." - John 11-12

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with Me." - Rev 3:20
