Are You Conscience of His Coming
Romans 8:22-23; I Thess 1:10
Introduction:
A. I believe New Testament living is consicience living.
1. Paul and the other Apostles consicience or aware
of some things
a. Conscience of death -
II Cor. 4:11
b. Conscience of debt -
Romans 1:14
c. Conscience of pressure
from the devil - I Thess 2:18
d. Conscience of deliverance
B. They were looking for the upper taker instead of the under taker.
They were aware that at any moment they could be raptured out.
1. How conscience are we of the Lord's Return? How
sensitive are you? How aware are you?
2. The problem in our local churches, the reason
for so much apathy, coldness, barrenness and at ease living is we have
lost the consciousness of the fact that Jesus Christ could come for us
at any moment.
C. The things that used to motivate us are not motivating us anymore.
1. Preach on hell - they yawn
2. Preach on judgment - they clip fingernails
3. Preach on Second Coming - they stare in space
D. What will be the result of Conscience Christian Living. Conscience
of an imminent rapture?
1. If we really and sincerely believe that Jesus
could come at any moment ......
I.. WE WILL WORSHIP DIFFERENTLY: Heb 10:25b
A. A Christian will not be a hit and miss believer.
Won't worship when you want to.
B. Faithful worship will not save you but it will
identify you with
1. Folks who are going to
heaven
2. Folks that love the Lord
and wants to serve Him
3. Folks who love gospel
preaching
C. See, some folks like short sermons, sermons without
committment, those that are not demanding. They like those 12 noon sermons.
II. WE WILL WORK DIFFERENTLY: I Cor 3:13-14, Romans 14:10
A. Some folks will not do anything for the Lord
1. Won't drive the bus
2. Won't teach a class
3. Won't work with youth
4. Won't even clean the
church
B. We should realize that our "Works" could be examined
tonight.
1. We should be zealous
to serve
2. We should be zanty in
serving
III. WE WILL WALK DIFFERENTLY: Col 3:4-5
A. We are talking about actions, conduct, personal
behavior
1. Our morals and ethics
in life are connected to the Rapture of the Church
a. Col 3:4-5
b. I Thess 5:22-23
c. I John 2:28
d. I John 3:3
B. Why are there so many..
1. Habit ridden
2. Sin ridden
3. Cold and indiffernt believers
today
They are not conscience of an imminent rapture
