MISTY HILLS ACRES was founded in 1974 and the name is derived from the very hilly country in Western Pennsylvania. We started racing with the old MHSJ, branched into showing for some time, then got away from showing, but kept up with the racing, joining BHS in 1982. MISTY HILLS ACRES is a vast area of nearly 1000 acres. Seven barns house our stallions and three more for our broodmares. Paddocks stretch in every direction, fenced and cross-fenced for the horses protection. The hilly terrain makes a picturesque backdrop for this large operation and we are very proud of our accomplishments.The hills not only make the setting lovely to look at but they also provide exercise for the horses that one cannot get on the flatlands.
Owning and operating RAINBOW DOWNS which is located just across the road from Misty Hills main gate, provides us with adequate training and exercise facilities including a turf track. Be sure to check our RAINBOW DOWNS racing schedule for 2000 and come join us for racing at its best.
