This is the homepage of the Melohn Family. It was created to let you know
how two parents
(Frank & Sue) over 50 thrive on raising their young daughters. These pages include Becky and Kathleen's Girl Scout activities, their softball exploits, their love of camping and exploring new places,
their Catholic school experiences and most of all OUR faith in our Lord.
If this doesn't appeal to you then please feel free to move on. Nothing
that our Lord would not approve of will ever be put on the web by us.
THE MELOHN FAMILY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDS ON THESE PAGES. ANGELFIRE PLACED THEM THERE BECAUSE THIS IS A FREE SPACE. WE DO NOT ENDORSE ANY ADVERTISEMENT ON THESE PAGES.

All of the family really enjoy camping in our old RV.
It's only 23 feet long
and that makes it a little tight for sleeping - you should see us when we go
camping and take one or more of Becky's or Kathleen's friends along. This summer (8/97) we are going to Yellowstone NP and are taking Becky's best friend along. We live in Mesa, AZ so we will go through Utah on the way there and Colorado on the way back. Let us know if you've been there. I haven't been there since 1952.
Talk about crowded. Two weeks and five people in the motorhome. Beck and her friend (Kim) both slept on the overhead and Kat slept on the floor. We had a wonderful time. One nice lady e-mailed me just before we left and let me know that the Salt Lake City freeways were a mess and showed me how to go around them. THANKS.
God's works are everywhere. From the hot bubbling pools to
the geysers to wild animals, all of
Natures works can be seen. The animals belong there, we are just the visitors. Isn't God marvelous? Kathleen turned 11 at the start of the trip. What a birthday party she had-lasted the entire vacation.

It's now 1998. Just think, nearly 2000 years since Christ lived here on Earth and by now you would think we would have His message straight. Will we ever learn? Please God let us learn to love You more than ourselves and to always try to do Your Will.
Donated the motorhome to a Christian group that takes kids into the desert to camp. We got a new 2002 Saturn for Sue and a used 2001 Astro van for me.
Sue traded the Saturn for an '05 Buick here in Mountain Home, AR.
(Dad's Page is a must read. It is a perfect testimony to the workings of HOLY SPIRIT in the life of a sinner. If you haven't already gone to it, please do so now. I know, I'm living it. Thank You............... )
Our story started with my early mis-adventures
(Just click on my pic)
Now the story starts to get good. My wife got an annulment from her first marriage, so we were able to have our marriage in the Catholic Church. We had our first little girl in 1983. At 17 I had joined the Catholic Church to see
if it could stop my problems. It didn't and I had fallen away for 20 years.
Now I came back to it and my wife also joined. Our second daughter arrived in 1986 and when the time came they both went to Catholic school.
Beck on the Beach
(1/03)Becky is in her second semester at Northern Arizona University. Kathleen is a sophomore at Mesa High this year.
(2006)
Now Becky is looking for employment where she can use her Psychology from NAU. Kathleen is now living and going to college is Odessa, TX

(back to 1998)
A couple of months ago our family went to a Spirit Fest, held in America West
Arena in Phoenix. What a wonderful experience. Kathy Trocolli, Israel, Melendez, also the inspirational
Bro John Michael Talbot, and the best of all a full screen
video of Rich Mullins
singing 'I SEE YOU' while on the Rez with the Navajo children. Everyone
in the entire auditorium was singing along with hands raised and joy in
their hearts.
Christmas 1998 has arrived. Pray with me that the Peace that Jesus brings
will finally be felt by every one. Let the Arabs and the Jews make peace.
May the Catholic and the Protestant Irish become one people. Help the Iraq people find a leader and a way of life that does not cause fear to everyone else. May every expectant mothers realize that the baby she are carrying is made in God's image and is a precious gift not a cheap throw-away thing. And may all of you have Peace on Earth and peace in your hearts, all of the time. FROM the Melohn's

We vacationed in northern Arkansas in November of 2001, went back briefly in July of 2002 and purchased a mobile home there. Also Sue and I vacationed there again in October of 2002. Here are some pictures that I had on another page that wouldn't work so I moved them here and deleted that page.
Sue's Hybred Bass from Norfork Lake, released unharmed 05/05. Mtn. Home, AR.
Stripped Bass from Norfork Lake, released unharmed 07/02. Mtn. Home, AR.
Here is our retirement home that we purchased in Mtn. Home, AR. We moved here in November of 2004 although I spent the past two summers here and Sue traveled from Mesa, AZ to visit. Each winters I went back to Mesa for another rotator cup operation. Three in all now.

A Massive Christian Celebration
January 15, 2000
Youth Concert - 1PM
Praise Celebration - 2PM
Bank One Ballpark - Phoenix, Arizona
Festival of Faith has come and gone and it left a feeling of unity among the various participants. About 35,000 persons attended and most enjoyed every moment of the program. I think the neatest was at the end when the ballpark roof opened and the sky was filled with little white clouds. Then white doves were released and they slowly circled around and around until they finally got above the roof. Even though they were out of the ballpark the circled above us for several minutes before flying off. What a wonder sign of peace to everyone.
On Friday 01/14, the night before the Festival, Sue and I attended a mass in celebration of Martin Luther King Jf at St Mary's bacilica in downtown Phoenix. What a wonderful celebration with a great speaker from St Louis. January is almost gone and it has been a really good beginning to a new year and a new century.
During the year 2000 the Melohn family had its share of ups and downs, with the downs outnumbering the up, but through it all our faith held us together and sustained us. Both of our girls had their interest in Church wane, Beck has come back somewhat, but Kat has lost all desire to attend services. She goes because it is required to attend each Sunday, but she has no interest in doing so.
Fr John went to Surprise, AZ to start a new church and Fr Chris became our pastor. We also got a brand new associate, Fr Billy who was just ordained. He is the same age as Fr Chris. He had been in the Peace Corp, I believe. He also was a teacher before becoming a priest. People try to dignify his name and call him William, but he isn't having any of that. Billy is was and still is.
My mother went home (to Jesus) in November. She was 92 and was ready to go. I know she is singing in God's choir now, just like she did in the church choir when she was young.
Advent just started and Fr. Billy preached a wonderful homily on "Being Prepared". He started by not finding his prepared notes and it became funnier with each thing he said. But it was wonderful, and many came back to a later Mass to hear it again. Wish I had taped it. Last week he did one on Being a Soldier in the Army of Christ. He put on one of those camouflaged helmets and went all around the church while preaching. He had every one's attention the entire time. (As of 2005 he became pastor of St. Joseph's in Williams, AZ
Christmas is almost upon us.
2007 passed quickly. I had a small growth removed from my inner thigh. It was benign so I am not too worried about it. It did take two months to heal up so fishing had to take a back seat for most of the spring and some of the summer. Actually I should have sat out the entire year as the fish just weren't very kind to us. But still, we went to a lot of club, Mountain Home Rod and Reel, meetings with a lot of nice folk and even joined the Lake Norfork Striper Club and the Walleye Anglers Association. All three groups really talk a lot about fishing in this area. The Striper Club even has a free meal before each meeting. Had deep fried striper on time. Never knew striper meat could taste so good. We went to Texas this year to attend our youngest(Kathleen)'s wedding. She married a great bass fishing Texas boy,(Derek). Too bad they live over two hours away from any place to fish. Now it is 2008. The boat is sitting here at our place being detailed. The scum was so bad on the bottom that my transducer wasn't even registering. It's been to cold, icy and windy to get out. A few of the guys are catching a (very) few fish but it should improve next few weeks. We won't be here from mid April to mid May. Our youngest will be having her first child (going to name him Tristan), and we well be with them in Texas. Our oldest daughter will be having her first baby sometime by the end of May or the first week in June. We will be grandparents again, twice this year. EXTRA, EXTRA..Tristan arrived 6 weeks early via C Section. March 12,2008
