Jagjit and Chitra Singh, probably the best known ghazal singers alive today
Who is the guy?
My name is Harjit Singh.
Currently i am involved in the research world of stress and uncertainty. I am a research student at the University of Plymouth, UK. The area of my research is related to Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) and Data Mining (DM). IDSs usually depend upon auditing information provided from the system?s log or data gathered by monitoring network traffic in real time, typically using statistical analysis techniques. The research aims to improve the techniques employed here by investigating the potential of applying DM approaches. The investigation will specifically consider the issue of user behavioural profiling, examining the programs a user runs and other behavioural biometrics as a baseline to gauge behaviour status. The investigated methodologies, techniques and algorithms(s), selected from the DM activities, will be evaluated for classification accuracy using, for example, deviation from the user-defined policy. The classification accuracy observed using traditional analysis methods will be used as reference for DM algorithm(s) classification accuracy, and selected methods will be taken forward as elements of the anomaly detection and profile refinement agents within an Intrusion Monitoring System architecture.
